Today, I was elected to the bureau of the Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament. As vice-chair, I will support the integration of independent MEPs from new parties in the group work.
The strengthening of nationalistic and anti-European parties makes it more important than ever that the progressive forces in the European Parliament collaborate closely and to make sure that their groups are not mere partnerships of convenience. I look forward to intensifying the cooperation of the European Pirate Party with European Greens, European Free Alliance and independent MEPs. The group has decided to elect a pluralistic and inclusive bureau that represents all relevant forces within the group. This is a strong sign for our common vision of a connected, democratic and pluralistic Europe.
The new bureau will introduce itself to the press tonight at 18:30 in the arts centre “Les Brigittines”, Petite Rue des Brigittines 1, 1000 Brussels.
